Here is what I discovered when I switched to spin to WERK on my cardiovascular health:
- Spinning is low impact, so it is much easier on your joints. Indoor spinning can even IMPROVE your joint function!
- Indoor cycling gives the body adrenaline and endorphins which promotes lower stress levels. When paired with the dark room and exciting music you totally forget you are even working out!
- You can burn calories quicker on a spin bike than a treadmill.
- Spinning is a FULL BODY exercise! When riders keep their cores engaged, chests lifted, arms light and glutes back they are doing way more than just working out their legs. Cycling helps build lean muscle mass in the entire body without adding bulk.
- Regularly attending spin class significantly improves your aerobic capacity, cholesterol and triglyceride levels, blood pressure and body composition!
- But my personal favorite part of a spin session- is the community that you build in that room. You are not alone with your headphones on doing your own marathon. You are surrounded by a team who is working for the same goal as you with a passionate instructor behind the mic leading you through each song. You find your TRIBE!
